I think we're on the same page. Perhaps "drawboring" is a little too strong a term for the kind of subtle offset I usually think of for these chairs etc. I doubt there would be distortion evident when disassembled. In retrospect I'm not sure whether Adam meant they weren't pulled in hard with drawboring or he meant they weren't pegged at all.
