Looks real good, & a question... () bill tindall
>Overall 8 1/2 and blade 1". I wish I had also made one 3/4" as some nibbling, for example relieving tennon shoulders, would go better with a smaller cut. But I had a bar at 1" so that is what got made this time. These things are very easy to cut out, so I will make another the next time someone is sending stuff off to the heat treater. A batch is 25 pounds and we never accumulate that much before someone gets impatient and sends off what is done.
In addition to that information I forgot to include..... the black on the steel is oxidation from heat treating. I leave it on as it retards corrosion and I don't mind the looks of it. The bevel looks black but isn't. It is ground, of course.
