pins firstBill Tindall, E.Tn.
I have backed myself into a corner and needed to do pins first on a dovetail. Which led to a question. It seems that many/ most people cranking out drawers do pins first. Alan Batty, for example, reported pins first in the English furniture factory. While I can do pins first I do not find it easiest or faster, no doubt because I don't so it daily, or at least often.
So, what is it about pins first that seems to make it the preferred way for people in production situations? In these situations it is more productive but I don't see why.
