I bought an old adze with a hammer handle added. I pulled the hammer handle out and made my own using the geometry suggested by David. I sharpened it with an outside bevel. Of course, any sharp edge is the apex of two polished faces of steel. I did slightly bevel the inside just enough to remove the pitted area of the old adze head and make a sharp edge.
