I do not generally include knots, it is a design decision. A bark inclusion on the edge of the board just looks like one was going cheap on the wood.

I would not use that wood for a drawer front as if I did, there would be a huge shear force and possibly biding force given it appears to be crossgrain to the drawer opening. IKEA does that kind of thing, but the teak veneers were paper thin. My Dad's Bechstein grand piano is done that way, I think, but it is also very thin veneer, and it failed almost totally over the 50 years he had it. It had been rebuilt, so I do not know how it came from the factory.
