When BU and BD are mixed in a discussion it becomes hard to follow what side of what blade we are talking about. Throw the word "back" into the discussion and it becomes more difficult(for me).

Are you showing that the side of the blade the shaving slides up wears the greatest in both cases? We have shaving abrading the shaving side of the blade and the blade rubbing across the wood on the other side. Which situation is most abrasive and is it the same or different for BU, BD? Or did I miss the point entirely?
