Fun with a new plane

Joe shelton
A good while back I bought a Bench Dog rabbet plane, and when I got home just set it aside.

Yesterday, with a little time to spare, I cleaned it and sharpened the blade. Worked pretty well on a couple prices of scrap. That surprised me some - the mouth seems curious. It angles away from the edge, and I did not take pains to adjust to a fine, tight fit.

It went into the toolbox, and may turn out to be helpful away from the shop.
