I heard a story about a guy who was finding himself at an ashram in India, he told them he had to leave because he had no money for toothpaste any more. The monks said, “oh we just use dirt.” I thought dirt sounded a little intense till I saw “hydrated silica” on the tube. I’ve also heard in China they use ash but that’s China.
