This is V11 after 400 feet in maple.

(this picture looks drastically different than my current pictures - I had to get a new camera as the old one wasn't compatible with win 10 power management and it wouldn't stay connected - too bad as the old pictures were move vivid).

Anyway, same iron as above after 600 feet in maple (the depth of the cavity worn out is a bit of an illusion, it's not that deep, but that's how the microscope sees it. smooth, though.

So, what's going on there, is it really that different, or is it just because visual spectrum doesn't tell the whole story? Don't know.
