Thank you, David! I've been looking for information about this stone for a long time. You have satisfied my curiosity and I appreciate the detail in your reply. Your comment about a dealer's ability to meet the customer's needs and expectations is spot on. I had a fair number of dealings with Kayoko before she returned to Japan, and she hit the mark most every time. I've been very pleased with this stone. I recognize that we pay a lot for these kinds of Japanese products here in the states. I knew that when I purchased this stone, but I've had no second thoughts about it. Once again, I appreciate your detailed reply. I'm going to print it and save it with the stone.
