Hi, orlando - long time no talk! I remember early on when both of us were hitting up stu for all kinds of things and horse trading with him. That's how I got most of this stuff, though I bought my fair share outright, but stu and I would have trading wars where one would try to outdo the other by showing that we could trade more to each other than we got in return. That wasn't always smart!!
I remember stu saying the same thing - I got a gok 20k through him at cost, tried it on razors and quickly sold it (it was a little finer than most stones, but it didn't move the needle on razors as what it gained in fineness, it lost in speed, and oxides on a soft backer will always outdo a stone).
I got the sp13k shortly after that, and for some reason, razors don't love it - it's definitely fine enough for them, but I never looked at why they don't seem to finish with a lasting edge off of it. I remember stu saying at the time that they called it SPII (the same line as the sintered stone) because they didn't really have a place to "put" it, and they chose to label it under that line. It's more like a typical stone, as you know - the sintered stones were sort of odd ducks in silicon carbide - friable and way different than alumina stones.
Winston gave me your email address - I'll send you an email or you can send one to me through the same address on here.
