Paulownia is light, dimensionally stable, and easy to work and has an attractive appearance. It was commonly used in Japan to make tansu. I used it from a tree I harvested to make the drawer faces and frames for kitchen cabinet doors. I also made this box from the offcuts. The design on top is a stylized depiction of paulownia leaves and blossoms.
