The shapton 5k gets a lot of abuse. It's like a finish stone that's not a finish stone...

....until it's been wet a while, and then it works really well. A more dry feeling matrix (a little open) would've served them better and the grit rating is misleading - it's the same fineness (or finer) than a lot of 8k grit stones
