I'm happy to see this. I think Bill's favorite thing from this is the ability to step up underperforming chisels, and that's certainly the biggest gain.
Expensive chisels (Generally, the robt sorby chisels are actually pretty expensive) still do a little bit better than substandard chisels, though, especially in regard to their edge fineness.
Some of that could literally be attributed to my use of a washita on the backs of the chisels in the test, though (the scratches in the sorby from a washita are much deeper than a chisel closer to Rc62 hardness).
