I remember hearing at least at one point that Friday used a sander and then another with a cork belt to sharpen. My parents live a couple of miles from supergrit, and they have cork belts, so I figured I'd give it a try.

Their cork belts beat up edges, and that was that. The devil is always in the details, I guess.
