..on a paring chisel. I didn't mallet this edge at first, rather used it to pare shoulders and miters. I hate it when paring chisels get edge damage and leave lines all over everything (it usually doesn't matter, but on the corners of planes, it does).

I think the lack of resistance in the roundover vs. even a tiny microbevel makes the buffed edge better for paring.
