tiny microbevelResponse To:
Iles chisel tolerates hard maple at 32 degrees () David Weaver
* 20 degree primary, 23 degree secondary, four strokes on cast diamond lap with 1 micron diamond at 34 degrees.
better than any of the other larger microbevels - no edge failure of any particular concern, 127 mallet strikes for an inch of maple.
Bevel being much steeper is important so that even the tiny microbevel removes all diamond hone scratches.
* just for calibration, unicorned the AI chisels here and chopped the next inch of the maple board - 107 strikes.
