How does one go about spreading evenly on a given substrate? Tow tasks to be accomplished. Spreading and embedding. Finger, piece of hard flat rock like agate, the tool being sharpened. The people that use diamond for faceting stones squirt some paste on the plate then use a hard flat stone to spread and push diamond into the substrate. Does it differ for coarse vs fine grits? no
