Thanks for posting that, David. After I asked the question I tried it myself. I use 1 micron paste, so I don’t need WD40. My results are the same as yours.

I wondered about the lack of a wire edge, which would have been minimal, but the results are very good. I have no way of telling how deeply the diamonds embed, but even though it doesn’t give much resistance, the edge comes away very sharp. I only have O1 and A2, plus whatever a Berg chisel uses (though I suspect it’s pretty close to a W1), so can’t say anything about PMV11. Everything comes away very sharp. Haven’t tried rolling the edge yet.

That piece of Corian now stays on the bench.
