how I achieved the Weaver Bever

Bill Tindall, E.Tn.
note I coined a better term...

David estimated the "Weaver Bevel" to span 0 to a max of about 5-10 degrees. The picture showed it to be tiny, just a glint of light.

I removed the dead edge with ex fine fixed diamond plate, followed by 1 micron diamond on cast iron. After a few rubs to be rid of the wire edge, as I drug the chisel across the plate I rolled the chisel up what I estimated to be about 5-10 degrees for about 5 strokes. Then I rubbed on leather at + 5-10 degrees for a few strokes. I observed a thin bright line at the edge.

The idea is to be making a convex edge. I imagined in my mind what sort of a roll of the wrist would achieve the profile I was after.

For edge longevity of a chisel that is bashed to remove wood from a mortise or dovetail the Weaver Bevel seems to be a game changer. I am simply astonished that after bashing out 5 drawers the chisel looks like it did to begin with.
