The panels are made with rubbed glue joints, not dovetails.
The finished dimensions are 14" deep and more than 48" long.
Joining the *completed* panels at corners that far apart, with the panels only 1/2" thick left too little glue area for my liking in dovetails.
(It's in a kitchen entryway with heavy traffic.)
Once I decided the corners required glue blocks for bracing, it came together.
The lumber was sold in Central Massachusetts as Sugar Maple.
The ends grain of the boards, after cutting to length are prone to splintering off.
This characteristic particularly worried me in cutting dovetails.
