Re: glass not ideal, or desirable

I wonder, Bill, if the laminate sheets are the same items used in offices to protect valuable documents. They come as pouches and are heat sealed to protect their contents. Probably 20 years ago when I decided to try water stones I bought from Lee Valley an item called the “Stone Pond” which included the 90 grit SiC and a few of these laminate sheets. The laminate sheets were to be used on an included piece of glass. They were self adhesive and seemed to protect the glass although I did not get the sense that the grits embedded into the sheets like diamond paste might do in cast iron.

Truthfully, this flattening of the Washita was probably a one time thing for me and I may never use the SiC grits again.
