***SURVEY: THE IDES OF MARCH REDUX*** () Joe shelton
My shop became more clearly a haven, a refuge. My response became more commitment to trying tasks that had daunted me before. I failed some, but I succeeded in ways that surprised me, and encouraged my continuing efforts. I really improved my skill in sharpening edges particularly on odd tools like drawknives and scorps (travishers are still waiting in the wings). Finally, my expectations crystallized. I like hand tools much more than large power tools, and it's obvious my shop won't grow any. I will rid myself of the largest of my power tools.
