You can operate the Veritas quietly, and without a mallet. It is much easier to adjust the pressure without marring the work you are trying to hold down. They don't rust (though a little rust is an advantage if the Gramercy holdfast are not holding fast enough in your dog hole ). A lot of people really like the Gizmosity Factor of the Veritas products. The Gramercy holdfasts look neither fancy high tech nor traditional forged in fire.
