It really looks fantastic with flecking on the surface. I'm inclined to find some sold here - I probably just haven't looked hard enough. I've seen it marketed as flooring before.

I thought martin's desire to buy some (i talked to a guy at one point who sold wood to martin, and they'd bought sycamore and locust from him - former should sound more like mahogany, and latter like rosewood) was a little odd - he was offended when I told him I'd find a $4k guitar with locust on the backs and side a little bit undesirable, but then he tried to sell me some low quality norway spruce for electric guitars at a really offensive price, too ($40 a board foot), so I felt less sorry about it!!
