At the small quantity, retail level, you get a couple oz. of a product like PC11 for about the same price as those 5 min syringe deals - those are usually less than an oz. Maybe you pay a buck more for twice as much.

Now if you use a lot of 5 min (or the even better liquid slow cure like 20 min or 2 hr), and have 8 oz bottles around, I would agree that mixing your own paste makes sense.

For a occasional user like me however, it makes sense to have both around when I need one or the other (Transtint also doesn't go into liquid epoxy easily in my experience - only if you use enough acetone and end up with an unpleasantly rubbery cure).
