...MSC will probably be cheaper that mcmaster for almost everything.
I've had luck finding things like stainless knurled screws directly from china (on ebay) when I want just one of something that's $4 each or $40 for $25.
It may require buying the parts from separate sellers.
Eg, this item (or something similar) for the hardwood threaded insert:
383055416255 (that's an ebay item no)
or if you're looking for something like #10-24 knurled screw.
