The vintage originals, the Stanleys, and the current LN ones, use(d) no glue. If the new handle is kinda slick, maybe some shellac or BLO, or hairspray would add tack and tighten the seating, provided there’s some bottom clearance. Interested in what others say on this, as I’m certainly no expert.
