If the joint is glued in place, it will attempt to shear?

It's my (mis?) perception that if you laid the dividers flat on the top and bottom carcasses sections that the grain patterns align.

The top and bottom sections *should* expand "fore and aft" with seasonal humidity changes. If the dividers have the same orientation, should they also run out "fore and aft"?

I'm pressing this point as I have a build in progress with similar concerns.
