I didn't know at first why there are 6 facets on a pencil. It's easy to theorize that doing 6 instead of 8 makes them easier to manufacture (maybe it does).
But there is definitely a case where holding a pencil with a fingertip grip is more comfortable with a 6 sided pencil than 8.
Not that it's that important, but interesting that when you try things, you often can feel why the widely accepted standard is the standard.
that leaves me looking to make a change in cutting the facets on the barrel as cutting 8 sided is easy. Cutting 6 is a little less easy.
