Pencil Two - OctagonalResponse To:

The octagonal idea is far better for hand tools, but it's easy to overcut facets.
The cashew lacquer reminds me of varnish. If you ever brush varnish on something and there's a bit of dust or dirt, the varnish sort of aggregates around it and makes it look huge.
I had a little bit of dust around when I was putting the lacquer on this one and it just spread all over it.
strangely enough, it seems like the best way to apply the lacquer is with the fingertip, and I'm sure it's not good to touch it. I'm not keen to give up on cashew lacquer for something more common yet as the cashew lacquer has a lovely smell, it's really durable, and it's flexible. But the smell adds to the experience.
Still much room for improvement.
