I made my own, by taking small blocks of wood, and using the gouge in question to split them, then, again using that very gouge, excavating a room for the blade. Remove just enough wood, so that you can close the split with the gouge in, then it will be a tight fit in the end. Then glue the split piece together and you are done. I can try to get a pic or two at some point if you are interested.
edit: I made these edge protections, although I have a leather roll, just so that when stuffing the roll in a bag or backpack, that the edges don“t cut through the roll
