Corners of gougesJeremy Osner
I have a bad habit when sharpening gouges, I oversharpen the corners (where the edge meets the side of the blade) and round them off. Anybody else do this? Strategies for avoiding it?
(In some situations rounded corners seem like the right thing -- I've got a very low sweep 3/8" wide gouge that I'm using to carve the background of a relief carving, and not having corners is working well. The edge is sharp all the way to the side of the blade, not sure how I managed that.)
