Re: Power/Hand Tool Milling Exhibit A *PIC* () Bruce, a MN Galoot
Last night at our woodworking club shop, a guy walked in with a 6/4” board that was cupped, bowed and twisted. He asked me how to get some usable lumber from it. I told him to cut to the lengths he needed, run one face over the jointer to get it flat and then run it through the planer.
What did he do? He disregarded everything I said, ran it through the planer until it was thinner (but still twisted, cupped and bowed), cut it to length, glued it into an 18” wide piece and then spent the next 1.5 hours sanding it flat with a ROS. I could only shake my head.
