I don’t recommend these tools and materials in the least. In fact, i ‘m a bit embarrassed. I only bring this method out here, because it’s so unique compared to all the other wheel abrasive offerings. Particularly the heat activation which I can’t fathom.
The fact is, it does yield a sharp sharp edge. However, I was not able to maintain geometry over multiple sharpenings. Would inevitably get rounding over and a steeper bevel. When what I always wanted was to maintain a long low bevel on gouges. So I gave it up for conventional methods. Nora liked it as a final hone, after getting the geometry and a reasonable hone by conventional means. I found that it worked great once, and then things kinda went down hill and I would soon have a major regrinding to do.
