Re: Spokeshave recommendation?

Derek Cohen (in Perth, Australia)
My preference is a spokeshave without an adjuster, which I find makes it a little top heavy.

I like wooden spokeshaves, but there is a learning curve. The best general use spokeshave I have come across is a Stanley #53, which has an adjustable mouth for fine/coarse cuts. I like the LN shaves as well for their authority in the hand, but they cost more than a basic Stanley #51 (non-adjuster version of the #151).

Regards from Perth
