An alternative....get a slab of 1/4” glass, wet it, and the sandpaper will flatten out on it and stay put. Have the glass shop ease the edges. You won’t get as much wear out of each piece of sandpaper, but there’s no hassle about changing paper.

Some vendors have advertised ‘float glass’ for this purpose. Don’t be misled—virtually all architectural glass is float glass.
