I saw that same tip, probably about the same time you saw it. I tried it, but someone must have left a critical step out of the instructions, because when I tried to turn the knob to extend the wax, the threads in the wax stripped. Evidently, I should have done something to loosen the bond between the wax and the container before I tried to extend it. It's still around here somewhere, and still works in a low-tech manner, by just pulling the cap off and sticking the ends of the screws into the wax.
