Oops. I missed or misinterpreted your first question. I thought you were asking about the screw thread pitch. Doh!
The bandsaw blade is 3/16" - 10 tpi. You are right, it's too many teeth for most of what I am cutting, especially the more difficult cuts which are as much as 1-7/8" thick. But some of it is 5/8" thick (which is about optimum), and there will be some more curved cuts in 3/16" thick stock.
