You could use an epoxy that has the consistancy of peanut butter. Acra-gel a product of Brownells is such an epoxy. It is a two part mixture mixed one-to one. It is used by gunsmiths in doing glass bedding of rifle receivers. It doesn't move very much. I use it all the time in fixing handles to files etc. But then again I am a retired gunsmith.
