1200 grit diamond bevel, 1 micron back - 527 feetResponse To:
One more wildcard- Washita and 1 micron-768 feet () David Weaver
same cycle time as the washita stone for the bevel on the iron (freehand), same overall cycle time.
Tested only to see if the benefit would be better than expected with diamond (few will use washita with V11. It can be made to work, but eventually, you'd tire of it). Works great with O1.
The worn out 1200 ezelap is still, too unrefined to offer much benefit here relative to the others.
Not to say that it won't take a thin shaving - you can read through two of the thinnest shavings that this method will make, but they have a lower quality than thin shavings from a more refined method, and duration suffers, too.
