That box of shavings is from the V11 iron. Have a look at the shavings on the top. Those continuous end grain shavings are actually the ones from the end of the test - the box contains all 150 grams of shavings. I had to push them down into the box a couple of times.
I'm kind of pleased with myself for planing that much end grain on a single sharpening, but I also don't want to test it again without having a mock 3 foot board made of wood glued together. Which, as you mentioned in email, adds the variable of glue, and we don't want that.
