Yes on that, it's a relatively harsh finish at that level and even micron to micron more coarse than a chosera 3000 stone, which leaves a dissatisfying starting edge.
I'll post the pictures of the edges later. The edge itself under the scope actually looked pretty decent, though. I can't convey how crappy it was at entering the cut, though. I expected it to be a little bit more tolerable. Over on the UK site, there are still site guys who fit with a plane finished on a fine India. It just really increases the physical work needed to make the plane operate. At least twice as much and the planing is far less accurate.
