We allready found out quite a while ago that PMV-11 really is a special type of PM 440C. I forgot the exact name, but it has about 17% chromium and very little vanadium. That makes it special because most of these PM die making steels are high in vanadium.

So, no wonder you find it doesn't rust and that it sharpens reasonably well on normal stones.
