Also, if there are pre-planing edge photos of the 1u/35 vs. 5u/35, that might be revealing, given the longer run of the finer honed iron. This is the fine vs. coarse test Bill T. Has been asking for forever.

If the diamond was on cast iron, a third run with 1u/35, plus final strop with 1u on hardwood would extend the test to ultra-fine vs. fine vs. coarse. Especially since the runs so far establish 35 as likely optimum or near-optimum for this iron on this wood.
