Effect of hardnessResponse To:
David's results show heat irrelevant () Wiley Horne
Hi Bill and all,
This could be tested using the Tsunesaburo iron, provided someone has a hardness test setup. The test would be destructive.
Test:
1. Check Rc right now (david thinks it’s really high)
2. Do a test run, with photos.
3. Put iron in oven at 400-425F for a while, and retest Rc (IIRC 220C is the upper end of tempering advised by Hitachi).
4. Make another test run, and compare.
