I bought a Toro in response to your initial post, and get good results so far in spite of the metal impeller.

I've just built, and have begun using, a shavehorse, and the large relatively wet shavings from that project and my playing with it have been no problem. Some chunks are too big to clear the impeller, so they rattle until I can't stand it anymore, then fall into a neat cluster when I shut it down.

Hope that impeller keeps on making noise...
