Re: W-1

W-1 ()

Hank Knight
I ordered an A2 replacement iron for my Norris A5 smoother form LN several years ago. A2 was out of stock so they sent me a W1 iron as an interim until the A2s came in. I flattened the back with little effort and sharpened it up. It worked flawlessly and holds a good edge for a long time. The A2 eventually arrived and LN didn't want the W1 returned, so I kept it. I'm still happily using it. I could never get the A2 to work in my plane. I think its too thick and chokes the mouth; but because the W1 has worked so well, I've never taken the time to have it surface ground to relieve the plane mouth.
