Re: Marples chisels: trying again

Warren in Lancaster, PA
This reminds me of the time I read on this forum that Henry Taylor carving tools were good for cherry and pine, but would just fold over if used on white oak. At the time I was just finishing up carving white oak for four months straight, all day, every day, with H Taylor tools. Production work, as much as my body would take. I have done a lot of work in white oak with Marples chisels also. Maybe people think that because the wood is hard they have to beat the crap out of the chisels.
