My trophy wife insisted that I review stacks of old Fine Woodworking for throwaway eligibles, because the remote attic corner they're in might be useful. I suppose for stacking unused goods from Williams Sonoma.
I dutifully looked through a sample, and met some old friends. Mike Dunbar mentioned the utility of a #3 sweep 35 mm gouge, for quick removal of excess. Said it was sometimes faster than a saw. Noted.
A different month had Tim Coleman demonstrating perforated 'pulls' for drawers, and gouges are good options there. Aha!
I now have some new gouges, and have been practicing sharpening and using them, and having fun.
And I still have those magazines. I'm just pretty sure they can't stay on the living room floor much longer...
